Spilberk Castle looms above Brno in a most impressive way. It has been a residence, fortress, prison and now tourist attraction. It has done all of these tasks well. The walk up to the castle entrance can be strenuous. The surrounding park is impressive and there are great views of the city from the castle.

Definitely worth a visit. Haven't been to Barcelona, which I've heard is great, but Prague is right up there with Paris and we thought much nicer than Rome. The central old town area is very compact and walkable. Trams and metro get you around easily, and there's now a hop-on hop-off bus service just started up.
